Soak up peace, energy at autumn spas

The heat is gone, so has the summer excitement, and in comes the season of relaxation.

Although the fast-spreading H1N1 virus is dampening the minds of potential travelers, those seeking a cleansing (and to simply let their guard down) can get just that by going to different resorts in the countryside. They all run special spa packages for autumn to offer some tranquility away from all the metropolitan hubbub.

Hilton Namhae Golf & Spa Resort

The resort's Spa Oasis runs for the months of September and October a "Happy Together Spa Package" for couples, friends and families. Starting with a foot bath, the package includes removal of corneous tissue with sweet sugar, followed by a deep tissue muscle massage using natural coconut oil, and a facial and scalp massage.

The Destination Spa program refers to checking each individual's health and providing a tailor-made spa treatment.

El Dorado Resort is a good choice for those who wish to soak it up at an outdoor spa along a white sand beach and deep blue sea.

Seorak Waterpia

Hanhwa Resort's Seorak Waterpia operates natural hot springs that sprout from some 680 meters underground at a daily quantity of 3,000 tons and at a temperature of 49 degrees Celsius.

The water is said to be rich in metal ions like sodium, potassium, calcium and magnesium as well as carbonate, chlorine, carbonic acid and sulphuric acid, all of which are said to be good for skin care, psychological fatigue, insomnia, high blood pressure, neurosis and others.
