Not many roller coasters are known for its historic significance.
Last month, New York's Coney Island Cyclone turned a ripe old age of 85.
Opened in 1927, it is considered one of the city's iconic landmarks.
According to flight search website Skyscanner, it was neglected for awhile
but was refurbished and reopened in 1975.
Today, it still operates, bringing theme park action alive to New Yorkers
and tourists, alike.
In honour of the Cyclone, Skyscanner has compiled a list of the most
stupendous roller coasters on the planet, which promises to keep your stomachs

world, plummeting at over 109km/h from a height of 54m.

travel beneath the rails.
