THE stereotype of a barely edible inflight meal appears to be a thing of the
past.
In today's highly competitive aviation industry, airlines are willing to make
the investments to hire leading chefs to help differentiate their
offerings.
Flight search website Skyscanner reveals the airlines with the best inflight
food and who better to give feedback than the passengers themselves.
It surveyed more than 100 passengers from around the world and asked them to
score the airline food based on presentation and taste.
More than half of the 19 international airlines, which were ranked according to
scores given by the panel of travellers, achieved 70% or more.
Contrary to the common stereotype about bad airline food, many reviewers
described the food as 'delicious' or 'tasty'.
“This investment in food appears to have been successful," said Mary Porter,
Skyscanner's food expert, in a press release.
So which airlines came out tops? We reveal more details in the next few pages.
