STAR Cruises has renovated its 12-year-old SuperStar Virgo 13-storey cruise
ship with a $32 million revamp.
The largest cruise ship in the Star Cruises fleet, which has a capacity of
1,870 passengers in 925 cabins, offers a revamped exterior, interior, new
facilities and entertainment for its guests.
Guests can expect a facelift as the ship has a new hull design, interior
carpeting and a grander entrance with the lobby's three signature golden-horse
statues that have been retouched with gold leaves.
At the renovation launch event, invited guests were treated to a Chinese New
Year 'lou hei' toss, lion dance and then given what seemed like a sampling of a
SuperStar Virgo experience.
We were serenaded by an Elvis-impersonator - truth be told, he was
impressive - and then played five rounds of Bingo that was slight corny at
first but enjoyable once we got into it.

The 12-year-old SuperStar Virgo, at 76,800-grt, is the largest cruise ship in
Star Cruises Asian fleet. The 13-storey high ship offers 925 cabins with 1,830
lower berths. The full range facilities include 13 restaurants and bars
offering international cuisine, show lounge, cinema, karaoke, disco, swimming
pool, water fun pool and jacuzzi, beauty salon, rock climbing facilities and
meeting rooms.

In keeping with the Chinese New Year theme, the entrance of the SuperStar Virgo
is decorated in new year style.
Cigar connoisseurs can look forward to a new room created for them. A
comfortable setting with views of the outside, guests can taste their cigars
exclusively. Next to this new Havana room is a wine shop where guests can
purchase high-quality alcohol to enjoy with their cigars.
