When the Gardens by the Bay opens on June 29, there will be nearly 10 F&B options for visitors to choose from, catering to different tastes and budgets.

Cafe Crema and Verandah

Located at the Arrival Square of the Gardens, Cafe Crema and Verandah are run by the Shin Group of Restaurants, famed for the Shin Kushiya chain of restaurants.

Cafe Crema will offer coffee-based drinks made from 100 per cent Arabica beans that are freshly roasted daily.

Food-wise, diners can tuck into gourmet sandwiches, such as the Big Bad Wolf, which has crispy pancetta, breaded pork cutlet, bacon rashers, apple smoked ham, Swiss Emmental cheese on buttery brioche toast.

Those who want something less meaty can opt for the Mediterranean Panini, which has grilled zucchini, eggplant and peppers, tomato salsa and pesto dressing on freshly baked olive bread. With each sandwich at least 10 cm high, there is no worry of still feeling hungry after.

Food and flora at Gardens by the Bay

Those who want to picnic in the Gardens can do so, as the cafe will also offer picnic baskets. Over at Verandah, the all-day dining bistro will offer local favourites such as spicy prawn and pork rib noodles and prawn paste chicken wings. Other items on its menu created by its executive chef Vincent Pang include modern interpretations of familiar dishes, such as chilli crab linguine.

Verandah opens from 8am, so early visitors can head there for breakfast before touring the Gardens. Breakfast items include eggs Benedict and caramel banana pancakes.

"With Verandah, we are proud to showcase the culinary heritage of Singapore and Asia through a contemporary bistro concept," says Lim Li-Wei, Shin Group's co-founder. "We also hope that Cafe Crema will be the perfect pit-stop for visitors to the Garden by offering artisanal coffee and handmade sandwiches."

Supertree Casual Dining Grove

Dine among the 18 Supertrees, which range from 25 to 50m high here.

The Supertree Dining Grove, managed by Select Group, will have five different F&B outlets and concepts. "As the main tenant for Supertree Dining, we wanted to offer a variety of five all-day casual dining concepts that would fit the different budgets and tastes of visitors," says Vincent Tan, its managing director.

The dining space's floor-to-ceiling windows allow diners to look out to the Supertrees. The view at night becomes more magical when the Supertrees are lit up.

The outlets include Peach Garden Noodle House, with its signature braised noodle with baby lobster, Hill Street Coffee Shop, which will serve local food, and Texas Fried Chicken.

Fans of Casa Verde and Canele Patisserie Chocolaterie will also be pleased to know that these two outlets will be opening at the Dining Grove too.

Unlike its self-served outlet in the Botanic Gardens, Casa Verde will be full service at its new outlet. The menu here will be strictly a Western one and its ever popular wood-fired pizzas will be available.

Over at Canele, executive pastry chef Christophe Grilo will also come up with more to-go items apart from the usual cakes and macarons because "visitors might just want to grab a wrap and continue exploring the Gardens," says Raymond Lim, spokesman for the Les Amis group of restaurants which owns Casa Verde and Canele.

In addition, there will also be an open bar where visitors can have a glass of ice cold beer or sip a glass of wine while admiring the Super Trees.

Canopy area

For something sweet, diners should hear to the Canopy area near the two conservatories.

Ice cream parlour, Seventh Heaven (above), which has an outlet at Katong Mall, will offer its ice cream and desserts here. There will be eight special floral flavours, such as Apple Blossom, Black Rose and Flower Honey, that will be exclusively available at this Gardens kiosk.

Local favourite Bakerzin's outlet will open by the first week of next month, offering its popular desserts and cakes.

Satay by the Bay

To open later in the year, Satay by the Bay pays homage to the Satay Club, the iconic waterfront hawker haven famed in the 1980s and 1990s for its local street food.

Located along the waterfront, this will be a mass casual dining space with about 30 stalls serving local hawker fare. About 30 per cent of the stalls will serve halal food.

There will be a dining pavilion perched over an eco-pond, and the dining space will have green roofs. The sheltered dining area will be able to seat 654 people, while the outdoor dining area will be able to cater to 200 to 300 people.

Supertree by Indochine

To open by late next month, this bistro run by the Indochine Group will be located atop the highest Supertree, 50m above ground.

On the menu is a mix of east and west cuisine, with produce sourced locally. Diners will be able to sip cocktails while enjoying sunset with the Marina Bay skyline as the backdrop.

"This will be the only spot in the Gardens where you can see everyone," says Michael Ma, its CEO.
