SENTOSA Luge on Tuesday launched its second track, a $2-million “Dragon Trail” that features tighter corners and night lightings.

The part go-cart part-toboggan attraction, which has seen some 3 million rides since its opening in 2005, will now offer participants an alternative 688-metre track to the existing Jungle trail.

Located at Sentosa’s Imbiah Lookout, the Luge carries riders on a downward slope, using non-motorised carts with a controllable braking and steering system.

The new “Dragon Trail” boasts an elevated course, with tighter corners and numerous turns. It is also has a themed design, with lightings that enhance the night-riding experience.

Each ride can last up to seven minutes or less, depending on how fast riders go. To get to the top of the 12-storey hill, visitors take a scenic 320-metre long aerial chairlift.

The Sentosa Luge, which originated in New Zealand, is a hit with the locals - some 50 per cent of visitors are Singaporeans.

Ticket prices start at $11 for one Luge ride and Skyride. Family packages start at $28 for 4 rides. Sentosa Luge is open from 10am to 9.30pm everyday.
