Philip Chao, director of Taiwan's Tourism Bureau Office in Singapore, said Taipei offers tourists fine cuisine, high mountains and spectacular sea views and, like Singapore, is a safe city.
Chao added that unlike some cities in the United States and Europe, Taipei is still bustling and humming with people and cars at all hours of the day and night. Tourists can easily find everything from 24-hour bookstores and karaoke clubs to late-night snack vendors and hot spring resorts.
Chao also recommended visiting northern Taipei's Yangmingshan for the night views, as well as the restaurants and coffee shops along the riverfront area of Bitan at the southern edge of the city.
