SINGAPORE - THE repugnant sight of a woman's sanitary pad stuck onto her luggage was the first sign that something was amiss.

After taking it off the baggage carousel at Changi Airport and removing the eyesore, netizen iLA_Giggs also discovered to her horror that the lock had been forced open and items were missing.

The reader, who gave her account on the Stomp website, said she had just returned from Kuala Lumpur on an AirAsia flight on Tuesday evening.

Travelling with her fiancee and cousin, they arrived at KL's Low Cost Carrier Terminal (LCCT) three hours early and decided to check-in their bags first. They boarded the plane at 8.10pm and arrived in Singapore at 9.15pm.

Upon arriving in Singapore, they picked up their luggage and she said her fiancee wanted to declare his cigarettes at the customs office.

It was then that they discovered the bag had been broken into, and found the cigarettes missing along with a portable hard disk and a pouch of petrol cards.

"I tried calling the airline's hotline but the recorded message says I've to call back tomorrow. This is the worst experience ever!" iLA_Giggs said on the Stomp website.
