SINGAPORE - New York-hubbed discount carrier JetBlue Airways and Singapore Airlines (SIA) have signed an interline agreement that will enable each to feed customers into the other's network.

In the case of JetBlue, passengers can transfer via New York on to SIA's routes to Europe, and beyond in Asia. SIA's passengers have the option of hopping on to JetBlue's extensive network covering some 70 destinations across the US and North America.

JetBlue is the largest domestic airline at New York/JFK, offering more than 150 daily flights that feature all-leather seating, and boasts the most legroom in coach of any US airline, free in-flight entertainment at every seatback, and unlimited free snacks and drinks. It offers non-stop service to dozens of top destinations including Boston, Chicago, Fort Lauderdale, Houston, Los Angeles, San Francisco, Seattle, and Washington DC, and from Newark to Boston, Orlando and Fort Lauderdale. In all, the airline operates some 700 daily flights, making it one of the leading players in the country.

SIA operates a daily all-business class non-stop service from Changi to Newark. In addition, the airline also flies daily from New York/JFK to Singapore via Frankfurt. And beginning Jan 16 next year, SIA will deploy the A380 superjumbo on its daily service to JetBlue's home at New York/JFK.

The partnership will enable customers to book a single combined ticket for JetBlue and SIA-operated flights with one stop check-in and baggage transfer between the two airlines. Customers may purchase JetBlue-SIA tickets via travel agents, online, or through SIA's reservations call centre.
