Everyone usually goes to the north of taiwan where Taipei city lies. However, I would like to recommend Southern Taiwan which includes Kaoshiung, Chiayi, Tainan and Pintung. In addition, I want to highly recommend Ren Sheng Holiday Resort is located in the middle of the Alishan Scenic Area. The resort has wooden cabins which house groups of between 2-18 travellers. I really enjoyed my stay there. I loved the scenic open-air observatory, where you can enjoy a cup of unique forest coffee during the day, or gaze at the stars at night. It is also just a short drive away from Rueili and Taiping Scenic Areas.

You could stay at The Garden Bed & Breakfast when you are in central Taiwan. It has an art gallery cafe which exhibits works by the owner (a renowned cameraman.) It can house guest rooms for up to eight people; a mini zoo with an assortment of birds and rabbits. www.garden-life.com.tw You could also visit dakeng Trail and Shihshuixie stream with the country's biggest water wheel! (at 9 metres tall!)

Central Taiwan has many National parks and scenic area. The most famous being the Sun Moon Lake Scenic Area in the Nantou County, where the Sun Moon Lake is located. Nantou is famous for sights such as Yushan, Taiwan's high peak and the Lushan Hot Springs. If you want to learn about the taiwan's cultural history, visit the Tri-Mountain Scenic Area in Taichung County. The town of lugang in Changhua County, boasts of old temples and traditional crafts.

You could visit Chiayi County - Fencihu Scenic Area is really beautiful and this county boasts a cool spring weather all year round! Kenting National park is not to be missed if you enjoy sea sports like surfing and water-skiing.
Hello! I have a three-day stopover in Singapore on the way to Australia and am wondering how to best spend my time. I'll be staying in a
hotel
near Orchard Road surrounded by all those glorious stores but have no idea where I should head first. Could you guide me to any interesting places for good dining, as well as some off-the-beaten track places that are worth a visit?
To experience how Singaporeans live, head to the new town of Toa Payoh to see for yourself. This district is in Singapore's Central Region and was one of the earliest satellite public housing estates in Singapore. You can take bus 143, which starts from Toa Payoh Bus Interchange and passes Orchard Road and Chinatown. Orchard Road offers plenty of good dining options but you can also check out Newton Hawker Centre, which offers a great selection of local dishes for lunch and dinner. Newton Circus is rather big and being near Orchard Road is considered a tourist attraction in its own right, Balestier Road is another good food haunt and home to a new market too.

Vivo city and Ion are probably the biggest shopping mall in Singapore now. Vivo City is near to Sentosa which you probably will visit. Ion is the newest shopping mall located in the heart of Orchard. It boasts of shopping be it high end or not,all under one roof. Ion has the largest Louis Vutton boutique in Asia too.

With three days in hand, you can do a lot of sightseeing and there's lot to visit if you are a first-timer, including the Night Safari, Ancient Civilisations Museum and the Singapore Flyer. You should also stop off in Little India where you'll find lots of little shops selling flowers, spices, textile, trinkets and heaps of Bollywood DVDs. Check out the Mustafa Centre for prices before hitting the streets. The food is terrific in Little India with both southern and northern cuisines represented. Komala Vilas has a well-earned reputation as one of the best vegetarian restaurants in Singapore. Not far away is Sim Lim Complex, a great source of bargains for IT products. Also take time to visit Bugis Village where you'll find lots of stalls selling bargain clothes and accessories.
