Everyone usually goes to the north of taiwan where Taipei city lies. However, I would like to recommend Southern Taiwan which includes Kaoshiung, Chiayi, Tainan and Pintung. In addition, I want to highly recommend Ren Sheng Holiday Resort is located in the middle of the Alishan Scenic Area. The resort has wooden cabins which house groups of between 2-18 travellers. I really enjoyed my stay there. I loved the scenic open-air observatory, where you can enjoy a cup of unique forest coffee during the day, or gaze at the stars at night. It is also just a short drive away from Rueili and Taiping Scenic Areas.

I hear that Kenting, Taiwan, is like Bali. When is a good time to go and how do I get there from Taipei?
Kenting is a very nice place. U should visit the beach., I was there 21 years ago during my one month Military exercise around April. It was such a breathtaking and beautiful place , difficult to describe in words my impression & feelings when i was there. Till today I still miss it. Two years back, there was a popular Tawianese film which also has Kenting scenery in it. It brought back memories for me. My wish is to go back there again with my family to show them the place that made me reminiscised for 21 long years.

You could stay at The Garden Bed & Breakfast when you are in central Taiwan. It has an art gallery cafe which exhibits works by the owner (a renowned cameraman.) It can house guest rooms for up to eight people; a mini zoo with an assortment of birds and rabbits. www.garden-life.com.tw You could also visit dakeng Trail and Shihshuixie stream with the country's biggest water wheel! (at 9 metres tall!)

Perth is kind of boring especially during winter but depends on what you like doing. You could try Swan valley or Margret river, there are plenty of individual vineyards there. Farms are somewhere down south. Oh, you could visit Rottnest island although there's really nothing much to do there.

Take a train to Femantle (Freo) from Perth City Train Station. Board the Fremantle Line from platform 7. It is a short 30 min ride. The E SHED Market is just beside the Freo train station. Exit the station and turn right. The market is just a short walk away. The E SHED Market offers much cheaper souvenirs than the iconic Fremantle Market. CICERRELLOS FISH AND CHIP Restaurant at the fishing Boat Harbour is a 90 year old establishment serving Perth's Best Fish and Chips. The Chilli Mussels are great too. This is a great place to bring the kids to see the fishes and sea creatures displayed in a gigantic aquarium. For adults I suggest LITTLE CREATURES BREWERY in Freo's Fishing Boat Harbour. The cellar door bar and restaurant with more than 300 seats serves their award winning craft beer. The woodfired pizzas and the BBQ squids are highly recommended. They also serve kangaroo meat. The Capuchino Strip beside the Fremantle Market is lined with numerous restaurants. Try the Gelato here. Do go on a weekend as both the markets are close on weekdays. Enjoy.

If you are travelling with your loved one, do take a cruise down Kaoshiung City's Lover River or a leisurely bike ride at Cijin's ocean park. The local seafood there is really good too!! You could visit Chiayi County - Fencihu Scenic Area is really beautiful and this county boasts a cool spring weather all year round! Kenting National park is not to be missed if you enjoy sea sports like surfing and water-skiing.
