For adventure and great scenery, go to either of these 3 places. The scenery is amazing and what makes up the country are the smiley people and their cultural values. For Laos, I recommend that you concentrate in North Laos as it is much cheaper than in the South. Also, getting off the track in remote villages should let you enjoy prices like they were 3 years ago. Remember to great people whom you meet in Laos "Sabaidy" before you start talking. It would be considered impolite otherwise. It may cost a little bit more but backpacking is more about the adventure than the money. There's plenty to see/do, cheap, easy and fairly safe.

I think that Japan will be a good place for skiing, it has a LOT of ski resorts. But the difficult thing would be to know which are the better ones unless u trust reviews or go experience it yourself. The runs @ zao ski resort are really huge and most trails were nicely groomed. I believe an all day pace runs about US $45. There are also plenty of eating places both on and off the slopes & frequent public transportation. I highly recommend this wonderful resort. But remember to bring your goggles; the weather at Zao is usually very windy and snowy.
Hello! I have a three-day stopover in Singapore on the way to Australia and am wondering how to best spend my time. I'll be staying in a hotel near Orchard Road surrounded by all those glorious stores but have no idea where I should head first. Could you guide me to any interesting places for good dining, as well as some off-the-beaten track places that are worth a visit?

I intend to visit the island of Marinduque in the Philippines in early June. What should I see and do there?
Be a beach bum on its longest beach, White Beach in Poctoy. You can sunbathe while enjoying views of the islandâs dormant volcano, Mount Malindig. Outdoors lovers can head for the outskirts of Santa Cruz to go spelunking at the Bathala Caves, which have thousands of bats and rock pythons lurking within. Guided tours to avoid the slimy and slithery are available from 150 pesos (S$4.60). Half-day charters from the capital Boac start from 500 pesos.
What places in Davao City, Philippines, should I visit when I go there next month, and what reasonably priced twin-share accommodation do you recommend? - Pauline Low
If you love the outdoors, hire a guide to explore Mount Apo or go snorkelling at the resorts and diving off Samal Island. Visit Dabaw Museum in the city for a taste of the local history and the clubs to check out the contemporary scene. Davao is also known as Little Japan and the sashimi capital of the Philippines, due to its links with the Japanese dating back to World War II. Try its yummy seafood dishes such as char-broiled tuna jaw and spice-marinated raw tuna strips. An affordable place to stay at is Marco Polo Hotel, which is centrally located and close to city attractions such as Davao Bay. AsiaRooms.com has an offer on rooms there, starting from $133.40 a night, a discount of more than 45 per cent.
