I hear that Kenting, Taiwan, is like Bali. When is a good time to go and how do I get there from Taipei?

Kenting Escape
Agree that Kenting is a wonderful place to visit and I was there in late Dec last year. Felt that weather was too cold and windy to really enjoy the beach or the water which Kenting is famous for. Before going, must watch award winning show Cape No. 7 to really appreciate Kenting and neighbouring HengChun. Must visit place is Chuhuo (“release fire”) at night where you witness fire from natural gas escaping from the ground. For Singaporean, its a priceless opportunity to play with myriad range of fireworks and cook popcorns over the open fire.

Kenting, Taiwan
Kenting is a very nice place. U should visit the beach., I was there 21 years ago during my one month Military exercise around April.
It was such a breathtaking and beautiful place , difficult to describe in words my impression & feelings when i was there.
Till today I still miss it. Two years back, there was a popular Tawianese film which also has Kenting scenery in it. It brought back memories for me.
My wish is to go back there again with my family to show them the place that made me reminiscised for 21 long years.

Kenting, situated in southern Taiwan, is a popular beach destination. Seaside activities such as snorkelling, surfing and jetskiing are available there.
Visit in December and January when the weather is more pleasant. Summer months during June and July can get very hot.
Take the Taiwan High Speed Rail line from Taipei to Zuoying in Kaohsiung, then transfer to a coach that will take you to Kenting.
Tickets for the two-hour train ride from Taipei start from NT$1,265 (S$55). The Kenting Express two-hour bus ride, which leaves from Kaohsiung, starts from NT$342.
You could also take a domestic flight from Taipei to Kaohsiung. Airfares start from NT$2,200.
