I stay in Singapore and I want to try going for a ski holiday, but to go to the Alps in France or to Switzerland is going to cost a bomb. Where's good for skiing in Asia?

Skiing at Korea
Yes, there are great ski resorts in Asia. Contrary to the popular belief, skiing = snow = only in European countries.
In Korea, Yongpyong Resort is the most popular ski resort there. It is well known holding several successful international events, such as the World Cup Ski Contest and Winter Asian Games.
If you travel to Seoul, Seoul Resort is the closest ski resort to Seoul. The rental fees for the lifts can go up to 43,000won (S$47) for adults, cheapest being 30,000 won (S$33). For children, expect rental prices from 9,500won (S$9) to 14,000won (S$15).

Zao ski resort in Japan
I think that Japan will be a good place for skiing, it has a LOT of ski resorts. But the difficult thing would be to know which are the better ones unless u trust reviews or go experience it yourself.
The runs @ zao ski resort are really huge and most trails were nicely groomed. I believe an all day pace runs about US $45.
There are also plenty of eating places both on and off the slopes & frequent public transportation.
I highly recommend this wonderful resort. But remember to bring your goggles; the weather at Zao is usually very windy and snowy.
