I loved the movie- Memoirs of a Geisha and I am wondering exactly where can I find an 'authentic' Geisha in Japan? Will I have to go to a specific place?

I went to Japan last fall and i happened to see a real geisha on the streets of Gion! i was really lucky though. it's not really common.
